Giving Back and How It Multiplies Your Blessings
Thanksgiving has just passed and we celebrated by giving back to the Grande Prairie community. Similar to our celebration last year, we did a little giveaway, and this year, we gave meals to families that needed them. Despite the challenging times the whole world has faced over the past almost two years now, there are still a multitude of things to be thankful for. The recent effects these challenges have had have greatly impacted some families, and being in a position in life where we are able to give, sharing that feeling of gratitude in our own little ways can help make a lasting impact on people’s lives.
Why Giving Back Matters
Often, people lose sight of what matters because of various reasons; responsibilities, the race up the corporate ladder, managing a business—the list can go on and on. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be in the field of work they love, and because of that, the act of working alone can at some point become burdensome. By giving back, there is a renewed sense of purpose behind the efforts we exert. Doing this allows us to see how happy we can make other people with small acts of kindness, ultimately leading to a different sense of personal fulfillment we don’t otherwise get when we’ve become so focused on the work required to make things from all facets of our life work.
We believe in excellence here at AquaMaid, and our passion for our jobs allows us to share our blessings with the community. Knowing that we are able to make even just a bit of a difference by sharing meals with some families gives us further motivation to make our excellent work even better. As a business, giving back fosters a sense of community and with this vision, we are able to take even more pride and joy from our work. By sharing our blessings with others, we build meaningful relationships within our community that empower us to do even better.
Successful People Who Give Back and How You Can Too
It is known that a lot of highly successful people give back in their own various ways. Perhaps the one cited most often is Bill Gates who has given billions of his wealth to various non-profit causes. Oprah Winfrey is another household name when it comes to sharing blessings with people. From across the pond, there is J.K. Rowling and her very own Lumos Foundation. But we needn’t go very far, as we have our very own Avril Lavigne who has her foundation specifically helping raise money for Lyme Disease research and treatment.
Having a cause you care about becomes a wonderful driving force for your daily efforts. The important thing to take away, however, is that you don’t have to be mega-rich to be able to give back in your own way. Small acts of kindness have a ripple effect, and by enriching the lives of those you share your blessings with, you are attracting wealth; figuratively and literally. We are what we put out into the world, and by doing good, good will come back to us.
The Tradition of Giving
Thanksgiving happens just once a year, but we can all reap the benefits of being grateful and mindful of our many blessings each day. Generosity and a sense of community allow us—as individuals and as businesses—to live even more meaningful lives that positively impact others. We are greatly looking forward to continuing our tradition of giving once more this Christmas, and for many years to come. This heartwarming feeling of connection and interrelatedness gives us a stronger sense of community and purpose that we hope would inspire you to do the same too!
